Notebook binding, late 18th century, cream-colored silk satin embroidered with polychrome silk using knot stitch and running stitch, depicting primarily a bouquet of pansies on the flap above which are feathers, an inkwell, a lantern, and a sheet of paper; the reverse side features a verdant terrace with a broken antique column; the base bears an embroidered name. Interior lined with plum-colored taffeta (with some wear and stains). 12.5 x 20 cm.
