Silk, gold, and silver embroidered purse, mid- 18th century; a four-panel purse in royal blue satin, lavishly embroidered with silk in a nuanced pasté technique and cordonnet, spun thread, and cannetille in a pattern of eyelets, poppies, hyacinths, and irises. Lined in blue marbled satin; the edges and seams are accented with a curled fringe (both sides slightly faded); H. 11.6 cm.
