50 Gusseted pouch in tapestry stitch, circa 1700, linen gauze embroidered with polychrome silk and gold and silver thread, primarily in Saint-Cyr stitch, featuring an all-over design of allegorical coats of arms beneath a marquis’s crown on both sides, surrounded by tulips, poppies, and foliage scrolls. Interior and gussets in green taffeta, the edges edged with a fine silver-thread braid (slightly oxidized), 10.3 x 17.3 cm.
