GIRAUDOUX (Jean). *Suzanne and the Pacific*. Illustrated by J.-E. Laboureur. Paris: Société Les Cent Une, 1927. Small quarto, blue morocco, gold thread on the front cover, with a mosaic title in green and silver letters, double edges, and olive-green calfskin endpapers, gilt edges on endpapers, cover and spine intact, slipcase lined with morocco. (Marot-Rodde). Limited edition of 125 copies, all on vellum paper, reserved for members of the “Les Cent Une” Society of Women Bibliophiles and contributors. This copy was printed in the name of Mr. Jacques André and is accompanied by a separate set of illustrations on old Japanese paper in the original format. This edition includes an unpublished preface by Giraudoux. The illustrations, among Laboureur’s masterpieces in this field, consist of thirty-three plates engraved with a burin. A very fine copy, in an elegant, decorated binding lined by Marot-Rodde—the artist’s favorite bookbinder—contemporary with the book. This copy is enhanced by a superb and fresh ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR by Laboureur, in the same size as the book and signed. From the Jacques André library.
