A superb and very rare interior poster announcing the publication of one of the most famous illustrated books of the Romantic period, marking the revival of woodcut engraving. Entirely lithographed (lith. by Villain, R. de Sèvres, 19), featuring a large composition by Jean Gigoux, unsigned but reproduced in the works of Messrs. Maindron (Les Affiches illustrées, 1886, p. 83) and Leopold Carteret (Le trésor du Bibliophile, vol. III, p. 383). A print of great freshness and superb quality.
