THE LIFE OF // THE GLORIOUS MARTYR HARENC. And how he was // cast out to sea and carried to Dieppe (at the end) Here ends the life of Saint Harenc. Explicit. No place, no date (circa 1520). Small 8vo, 4 folios of 22 lines per page, lemon-colored morocco, decorated spine, thread-bound, internal dentil, gilt edges (Trautz-Bauzonnet). A PRECIOUS COPY, admirably preserved, of this 15th-century satirical poem in verse (Frère, II, 600—Vicaire: Bibl. Gastronomique, col. 787—Montaiglon, vol. 2). A Gothic edition whose title page—with the first line printed in very large letters—is adorned with a beautiful woodcut depicting figures watching masons at work on a fortification wall along the shore. On the reverse of the last leaf, another woodcut depicts a knight clad in armor, behind whom stands a demon in the form of a winged monster with a fish tail (See *Romania*, vol. XV (1886), pp. 370–372). From the libraries of the Count of Lignerolles (II, no. 1502) and La Germonière (ex-libris, auction of April 29, 1966, no. 316).
