Sonja de Monchy Chaudron Sculptural Bowl Glazed Ceramic Date of creation: 2024 H28 D41 cm A contemporary ceramic artist, Sonja de Monchy Chaudron creates work centered on raw materials, natural textures, and organic forms. This 2024 piece, a glazed ceramic with irregular walls and a deliberately textured surface, expresses her interest in forms inspired by the mineral and plant worlds.
The contrast between the smooth interior and the sculpted, almost bark-like exterior creates a strong tactile presence and a decidedly contemporary aesthetic. The artist’s recent works are increasingly appealing to collectors for their authenticity, sculptural quality, and role in the revival of European artisanal ceramics. An expressive piece, ideal for a contemporary collection.
