HEIDENSTAM (O.-G. de). The End of a Dynasty: Based on the Memoirs and Correspondence of Hedveg-Elisabeth-Charlotte, Queen of Sweden, 1774–1818. 1 volume, in-8, bound in half-glossy red calfskin with corner pieces, spine ribbed with gilt compartments bearing Napoleon’s cipher, gilt headband. Paris: Plon-Nourrit, 1911. Frontispiece featuring a portrait of the Queen of Sweden. The binding of this volume was crafted by W.-H. SMITH in London for Empress Eugénie [de Montijo, wife of Napoleon III], who was living in exile. She died there in 1921. A VERY BEAUTIFUL COPY.
