D. CHRISTIAN & SON Meisenthal, Lorraine Title: Glass Vase 'Volubilis'. Date: ca. 1900. Material: Acromatic glass, opal-white underglaze, violet overglaze, etched and cut, partially martelé. Dimensions: Height 15 cm. Mark: On the underside of the base: “D. Christian Meisenthal Lorraine” and “DAFC” with the Cross of Lorraine (engraved). Description: A small, conical body with a rounded shoulder and a cylindrical neck that tapers inward at the center. The base is rounded. The front face features an etched relief decoration of flowering morning glory tendrils, partially reworked with a wheel. The etched background has a martelé finish in places.
