LANGENBERG, JOHAN Cologne Title: Small Pear Wood and Iron Double Coin Scale. Date: 1642–1657. Material: Box made of pear wood. Iron scales with brass weighing pans and beige cords. Brass weights. Dimensions: 3 x 12.56.5 cm. Mark: One of the weighing pans is marked “Johann Langenberg.” The inscription on the sliding lid compartment is very severely faded. Description: Rectangular box with ornamental embossed and incised decoration. The drawer contains five weights featuring coin images and weight markings in black ink. Beneath the sliding lid compartment are an additional eight weights. The beam scales feature a round and a triangular weighing pan. Under the small drawer on the side are three counterweights.
