REIDT, ANTONIUS Cologne Title: Large Coin Scale. Date: Dated 1653 and 1683. Material: Wooden box made of pear wood. An iron scale with green cords. Brass weights. Dimensions: 3.5 x 25.5 x 12.5 cm. Mark: Inscribed and dated on the lid: “Wag unnd Gewicht macht M: Tonnes Reidt wonende auffm Brandt in Collen Anno 1683.” A weighing pan, maker’s mark Antonius Reidt 1653. Description: A large, rectangular box with ornamental embossed and engraved decoration, featuring three bolts and a pair of weighing forceps inserted into the side. The drawer contains 40 weights bearing coin designs. There are two counterweights beneath the lid. The beam balance has one round and one triangular weighing pan.
