PAINTER OF THE XVII CENTURY Still life with the first version of Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes Oil on canvas, 33.5x43 cm The painting is very interesting because it shows the first version of Miguel de Cervantes' "El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha," published in two volumes in 1605 and 1615. In this version, the character's name was Don Qvixote, as stated on the spine of the volume depicted. The first edition of Don Quixote is extremely rare: in 2022 one sold at auction in Paris for 504,000 euros.
