Marie LAURENCIN (1883–1956). Signed autograph letter addressed to Elise Jouhandeau, on a postcard. Ségur, 12. [19]33. Handwritten address on the reverse with a stamp and postmarks. Turquoise ink. My dear friend. What a setback with the phone—I would so much like to see you. Right now I’m away working on my portraits. I’m here in the mornings until 10 o’clock. We absolutely must meet. I have nothing but fond and excellent memories of you. Yours, Marie. Elisabeth Toulemont (1888–1971), known by her stage name Caryathis, was a dancer and writer. She had married Marcel Jouhandeau through the introduction of Marie Laurencin herself.
