17TH-CENTURY PAINTER Portrait of Countess Tonso, née Pascalis, 1704 Oil on canvas, 76x63 cm; signed “Tonso née Pascalis 1704”; unframed. The Pascalis were a family originally from Canavese. The lady depicted was the daughter of Pietro Giuseppe Amedeo, a lawyer; he was enfeoffed with Valansengo (March 4, 1722) and invested with the committee (June 30; October 2, 1731).
