Sold without a warranty of functionality In the early 1980s, the watchmaker based its marketing strategy on sports sponsorship, focusing on tennis, golf, and Formula 1. It launched a line of promotional watches exclusively for the tournaments it sponsored, as an extension of its Sport collection: a round case with no sharp edges, from which the bracelet appears to flow naturally. The first version was created for the Monte Carlo Open in 1983. This version, created for the first Paris Open held at the Palais Omnisports de Bercy, marked the revival of the Paris indoor tournament and featured five players from the world’s top 10, including Becker, Noah, Mečíř, Leconte, and McEnroe.
