DE SEDE. De Sede designer team designed this sofa in 1970’s. This modular sofa in black patchwork leather consists of one corner element, 2 outer elements (corner), and 3 middle elements. Small signs of wear and patina considering the age. Produced by De Sede Measurements: Corner element 84 x 84 cm. Other element 64 x 84 cm, seat height 36 cm, height of the sofa is 60 cm. Designed by the De Sede team in the 1970s, this six-piece modular sofa combines a low, enveloping profile with black leather upholstery in a patchwork design. The stitching forms a grid pattern across the seats and backrests, accentuating the volume of the padding, while the patina adds subtle nuances to the surface. The set includes a corner module, two end modules, and three center modules, allowing the arrangement to be adapted to the space. Its appeal for 21st-century design lies precisely in this flexibility: it presents the sofa as a system capable of adapting to changes in layout and different ways of gathering and relaxing. It shows minor signs of wear consistent with its age. Founded in Klingnau (Switzerland) in 1965 as a workshop specializing in leather goods, De Sede applied the same high standards of craftsmanship used in the manufacture of leather goods to furniture. Beginning in the late 1960s, the company began collaborating with leading international designers, developing a collection of sofas and armchairs that soon became a benchmark for high-end European design. The brand has always upheld a philosophy based on the quality of materials, precision in construction, and the creation of furniture designed to last for generations.
