Table lamp in the style of ETTORE SOTTSASS (Innsbruck, Austria, 1917 – Milan, Italy, 2007). 1980s–1990s. Memphis-inspired design. Metal frame lacquered in black, orange, and red, with a translucent white spherical shade. In good condition, with slight signs of use. Measurements: 65 cm high; 15 cm in diameter. A unique table lamp representative of the postmodern aesthetic of the 1980s and 1990s, closely related to the formal language of the Memphis group, founded by Ettore Sottsass in Milan in 1981. Its design combines basic geometric shapes and contrasting colors in a playful composition with distinct sculptural hallmarks. Rising from a red circular base, topped by cylindrical and hemispherical elements, is a slender, angled black stem that supports an orange circular shade and a white spherical diffuser with a front opening. The arrangement of these elements creates an appealing interplay of balance and volume, reminiscent of the Pop Art aesthetic. Its conception reflects the experimental spirit of postmodern design, which transformed functional objects into elements of artistic expression.
