French Craftsmanship – Large Solid Silver Table Mirror, Louis XV Style – 19th Century A significant solid silver table mirror, of French craftsmanship, featuring a sumptuous Louis XV Rocaille-style frame, richly chased with volutes, foliage scrolls, shells, and floral garlands in relief. The upper section is crowned with an elegant openwork rocaille motif. The beveled, scalloped mirror is surrounded by a rich solid silver frame resting on two curved legs with scrollwork. On the reverse, a wooden panel and an articulated metal stand allow for an angled display. Condition: Good overall condition, slight signs of wear and oxidation on the reverse, some age-related wear on the glass.
