Rare bronze pyrogene decorated with hunting and fishing trophies – France, 19th century Description: A rare and remarkable bronze pyrogene with a brown patina, featuring a rich naturalistic composition combining hunting and fishing scenes. The piece consists of a large cylindrical container modeled after a woven wicker basket, surrounded by abundant sculpted decoration depicting hunting trophies, game, birds, fish, marine animals, seashells, and various fishing accessories. A small side basket completes this particularly elaborate composition. The dynamic, openwork base, adorned with branches and plant motifs, emphasizes the work’s naturalistic character. Beautiful craftsmanship, rich detail, and an original composition, in the spirit of the great French bronze casters and animal sculptors of the second half of the 19th century.
