Pair of large bronze ewers with patina – Neo-Renaissance style – 19th century An impressive pair of bronze ewers with a brown patina, richly sculpted and chased in the Renaissance style. The ovoid bodies feature abundant relief decoration of foliage scrolls, mascarons, winged figures, and historiated medallions depicting mythological scenes with figures and putti. The necks are adorned with female heads in relief, while the dynamically shaped handles are topped with winged mythical creatures and twisted motifs. Each ewer rests on a fluted pedestal and a molded octagonal base. Condition: Appears to be in good overall condition; the original patina shows some wear and variations in color. Dimensions and weight: H. 77 × W. 26 × D. 26 cm – 33 kg for the pair.
