Attributed to Marc Mendelson (1915–2013) – Abstract Composition – Oil on panel – 20th-century Belgian School Description: A significant abstract composition attributed to Marc Mendelson (1915–2013), a Belgian modernist painter, executed in oil on panel. The work features an expressive composition with gestural forms and broad brushstrokes, in a palette dominated by black, gray, and white, accented by subtle shades of pink. The energetic treatment of the material, the layering, and the contrasts reflect a pictorial approach characteristic of postwar abstraction. Monogram “M” inscribed in a circle at the lower left. On the reverse, handwritten annotations mentioning a barely legible title, the monogram, and the dates “1915–2013,” corresponding to those of Marc Mendelson. Presented in a modern black and silver frame. Condition: Appears to be in good overall condition, with slight signs of wear and surface marks. Artist: Attributed to Marc Mendelson (1915–2013). Dimensions: With frame: H. 77.5 × W. 65 cm – Without frame: H. 70 × W. 60 cm.
