Designed as complementary inverses, one earring features black spots against a gold background, while the other displays gold spots against a black background. Fitted with post and clip fastenings. Designed by Angela Cummings, documented in *The Tiffany Blue Book*, 1977–1978, p. 25. Born in Austria, the gemologist and goldsmith grew up in the United States, where she began her career at Tiffany & Co. in 1967. In 1975, she launched her first collection for the renowned jewelry house. Nature was Cummings’ primary source of inspiration. She translated organic forms and patterns into gold through intricate inlay work. Her distinctive use of mother-of-pearl, lapis lazuli, and coral inlays became her signature and remains particularly sought after by collectors today. In 1984, Cummings left Tiffany & Co. to establish her own company, Angela Cummings Inc., where she continued to create inlaid jewelry distinguished by its tactile qualities, unmistakable aesthetic, and effortless wearability.
