A rare complete collection of the elegant art album edited by Umberto Brunelleschi, A rare complete collection of the elegant art album edited by Umberto Brunelleschi A beautiful set of *La Guirlande*. Monthly art and literature album, an elegant and refined monthly art and literature album, published in Paris by François Bernouard between October 1919 and August 1920 in a limited run of just 800 numbered copies; our copy is number 4. The 11 issues feature previously unpublished texts by Abel Hermant, René Boylesve, Paul Bourget, Paul Fort, Anna de Noailles, Henri de Régnier, and others, accompanied by a rich array of illustrations featuring contributions by Umberto Brunelleschi and Georges Barbier, along with those by Gerda Wegener, Joseph Hémard, J.-G. Domergue, and other leading figures in French illustration of the time. Particularly noteworthy is the collection of 61 pochoir plates included as inserts, 35 of which are dedicated to fashion and interior design and are the work of, among others, Brunelleschi, Barbier, Wegener, Domergue, and Zinoview. Brunelleschi also served as the magazine’s art director and created the splendid silver-ground composition on the cover of the first issue, which was later reprinted in a smaller format. The collection is bound in a contemporary brown half-leather binding that preserves the original covers; the spine features two large gilded plant-motif stamps and the title. A rare and elegant testament to Parisian illustration and art publishing in the early postwar period. A rare complete collection of the exquisite art book edited by Umberto Brunelleschi
