Recent binding in antique parchment. This study of ancient Latin inscriptions was written in both French and Italian by the Florentine humanist and antiquarian Simeoni, who had taken refuge in Lyon to escape the Inquisition in Italy. The French text had appeared about twenty days earlier, but the Italian version contains 40 additional pages and 10 more illustrations.
