An important 17th-century treatise on optics and visual illusions A beautiful edition of Gaspar Schott’s *Magia optica*, published in Bamberg in 1671 and richly illustrated with numerous full-page copperplate engravings. The volume stands as an important testament to the convergence of scientific research, experimentation, and the culture of wonder during the Baroque era.
