Manuscript on paper, in brown ink and watercolor; 26 full-page plates with anatomical drawings and classical statues, almost all with explanatory text; the plates featuring classical statues bear green foliage borders in an old hand (incorrect plate numbering; the lower margins of many of the text pages have been trimmed; some stains and sporadic browning.) Contemporary binding in reused antique parchment, traces of binding strips (rather worn, with stains and some damage to the spine.) As stated on the first text page, the work is intended ‘for the use and understanding of drawing, based on the bones and muscles of the human body, with explanations and an index of the figures. ‘Extremely useful for painters, sculptors, and any other student of the noble arts of drawing.’ The last three plates are inspired by Andreas Vesalius’s *De humani corporis fabrica*.
