Scientific manuscript from the late 17th century, Scientific manuscript from the late 17th century An interesting quarto-sized volume, in a contemporary binding of stiff parchment, containing a manuscript devoted to physics and natural philosophy, with an extensive section titled *Tractatus de mundo et coelo*. The text is accompanied by 19 full-page ink drawings placed at the beginning of the volume, as well as numerous figures within the text illustrating phenomena of optical refraction. The volume’s current structure shows signs of binding alterations that do not correspond to the original arrangement of the quires and would require further study to reconstruct its original layout.
