Venice, Marcolini, 1551. 2 works in one twelfth-size volume (128 x 75 mm); 70, [2]; 112, [7] leaves. Printer’s marks on the title pages (first title page slightly stained and bearing an old inscription at the bottom, “Julii Erasmi et Amicor”; second title page yellowed and bearing the colored printer’s mark, with scattered slight red spots).) Late 17th-century full parchment binding, handwritten title on the spine, marbled edges. Pages 63–66 feature *La Musica stampata, madrigali, mottetti, messe & canzoni*, which constitutes the first bibliography of printed music. *La Seconda Libraria*, published the following year by a different Venetian printer, lists instead the works of authors that have survived in manuscript form. Doni included some fictitious names and titles among the authors’ works, arranged—as in the 1550 volume—alphabetically by first name.
