A beautiful edition of Angelo da Chivasso’s *Summa Angelica*, printed in Venice by Giorgio Arrivabene in 1502. A fine legal treatise with rubrications and a filigree initial A fine edition of Angelo da Chivasso’s *Summa Angelica*, printed in Venice by Giorgio Arrivabene in 1502, with the text rubricated in red and blue, an elegant six-line filigree initial “A,” numerous maniculae and handwritten annotations, in a contemporary Venetian binding, now rather worn. Compiled by the Franciscan Angelo da Chivasso and first published in 1486, the *Summa* is one of the most important manuals on moral theology and canon law from the 15th and 16th centuries. Organized alphabetically, it offered confessors, preachers, and jurists a practical tool for navigating moral and legal issues, ranging from the sacraments to sins, from religious obligations to cases of conscience. An attractive legal treatise with rubrication and a pen-flourished initial
