1955 SPEED MORS SCOOTER • French collector's vehicle registration certificate • Serial number: 5136 • No technical inspection • Prototype developed by Pierre Brissonnet • Has always remained in the family. Pierre Brissonnet, an automotive engineer and founder of the SPEED brand (sidecars and automotive accessories), designed the Speed scooter between 1943 and 1949. Pierre Brissonnet’s patent was acquired by the company SICVAM, which created the Mors brand to market this two-wheeler. Production began in 1951 with a frame made of Alpax and stamped sheet metal. The Speed, which can be separated into two parts for transport, can carry two people. Its frame consists of four bolted parts (three made of aluminum, one of stamped sheet metal), with one of the aluminum parts serving as the front panel, fuel tank, and floor. The scooter shown here is the prototype developed by Pierre Brissonnet, now owned by his grandson. It has had only two owners within the same family. This is the 115 cc version, featuring an air-cooled, single-cylinder, 2-stroke engine with a 2-speed transmission. It has been restored.
