1974 HONDA DAX ST70 • Standard French vehicle registration certificate • Mileage: 29,801 km (on the odometer) • Model ST70A Produced by Honda from 1969 to 1999, the “Dax” gets its name from its resemblance to a dachshund (German for “Dachshund,” abbreviated to “Dachs” and later marketed as “Dax”), particularly with its handlebars folded down in the transport position. It is powered by a 10°-inclined single-cylinder 4-stroke engine mated to a 3-speed transmission. The ST70A version features a hydraulic fork in place of the mechanical fork, new switchgear, a redesigned seat with the ST logo, and metallic “Candy” paint schemes. The engine also features modifications to the camshaft, piston, and ignition plate, along with special frame decals. The model shown is due for servicing.
