Certainly few people will read it. But those who do read it may become friends of Dostoevsky. And that is a great consolation! When shall I see you again? I think with melancholy of the large, bright living room in Neuilly! Believe in my admiration and my friendship.” The copy contains, at the beginning of the volume, a signed autograph letter from Henri Troyat addressed to Madame André Maurois, thanking her for sending an article on the release of his Dostoevsky in the United States (1 page, in-4, December 8, 1946, with envelope). André Maurois bookplate. In fresh condition.
