GRAU SALA, Emilio, and LÉAUTAUD, Paul. *Le Petit Ami*. A beautiful illustrated edition featuring original signed lithographs. This copy is printed on pearlescent Japon paper with a watermark, and includes plates and a breakdown illustration. Paris, Pierre de Tartas, 1974. Folio size, loose-leaf, illustrated flap cover, publisher’s Plexiglas slipcase with title in black on the spine. 154 pp., 29 lithographs (including the cover, in-text illustrations, and inset plates, some spanning two pages). An illustrated edition of Paul Léautaud’s great autobiographical narrative, spanning from his neglected childhood in Pigalle among prostitutes to his troubled reunion with his mother as an adult. It is adorned with 29 vivid original color lithographs by Emilio Grau-Sala, whose poetic and intimate style lends a nostalgic tenderness to the text. Limited edition of 310 copies, all signed by the artist and the publisher and certified by a court bailiff; this is one of the first 65 copies printed on pearlescent Japanese paper (no. 5). It includes the color separations for one plate and five plates on large Arches vellum, signed in graphite by the artist (the certificate lists a complete set of the insert plates). In excellent condition.
