[CURIOSA - LOUŸS]. Twelve Dozens of Dialogues, or Little Love Scenes. No place, no publisher, no date [circa 1939]. Small quarto (195 x 240 mm), loose-leaf, plain cover in a blue slipcase bearing the title “Petites scènes amoureuses.” 139 pages, numbered in facsimile. Jacket very slightly worn; a few pages frayed and browned at the margins. Second edition. It faithfully reproduces Pierre Louÿs’s autograph manuscript in facsimile. Although the title lists 144 dialogues, the collection ends with the 90th text, as Pierre Louÿs died in 1925 before he could complete his project, inspired by Lucian of Samosata’s *Dialogues of the Courtesans*. Limited edition of 100 numbered copies on Holland paper; this is no. 82, without the plates but enhanced with an erotic illustration (150 x 100 mm), based on one of Jean Collot’s compositions. A beautiful copy with a clean and fresh interior.
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
