Goat figurine. Rome, 3rd–4th century A.D. Bronze. Measurements: 4.5 cm (length). Provenance: Family legacy of Ramon Martí Alsina and Ricard Martí Aguiló. Archaeological collection formed from the 1950s by successive generations of the family, through acquisitions in European galleries and auction houses. Provenance: Private French collection. Acquired prior to the 1980s. Given its small size, we can say with a high degree of certainty that this is a votive figure. Ancient cultures produced elaborate metal pieces, particularly those crafted from bronze, that prioritized expressiveness over naturalism.
