TITUS Genève. 18k gold chronograph watch case. Switzerland, circa 1940–1950. Circular 18-karat yellow gold case, hallmarked, with stylized lugs. Ivory-colored dial with Arabic numerals and dot hour markers, baton-style hands, and a central chronograph hand. Bicompax layout, with two subsidiary dials located at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions, corresponding to the chronograph minute counter and the small seconds sub-dial, respectively. Perimeter tachymeter and telemeter scales with blue graduations. A fluted crown at the 3 o’clock position, flanked by two rectangular pushers for operating the chronograph. It works but requires servicing. It shows signs of wear and significant damage to the dial, with moisture stains and oxidation. The Plexiglas crystal has a crack. Weight: 41 g. Measurements: 40 x 45 mm. Provenance: Family bequest of Ramon Martí Alsina and Ricard Martí Aguiló. An art and heritage collection originating from the legacy of the Catalan painters Ramon Martí Alsina (1826–1894), a key figure in 19th-century Catalan realism, and his son Ricard Martí Aguiló (1857–1935). Passed down and enriched over successive generations, the collection brings together works from the original estates of both artists, along with new acquisitions made by their descendants. They remained particularly dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the family legacy, acquiring works by the painters themselves as they came onto the market and gradually expanding the collection with paintings, sculptures, archaeological artifacts, and other objects of artistic and historical interest.
