OMEGA. Switzerland, 1960s. Vintage 18k yellow gold wristwatch with a circular case featuring a polished bezel, slender lugs, and a fluted crown bearing the Omega logo. Argenté dial with a mix of arrowhead-shaped applied hour markers and Arabic numerals at 3, 9, and 12 o’clock. Lanceolate central hands in a gold tone and a small subsidiary seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. Perimeter minute track. Swiss mechanical hand-wound movement, Omega Caliber 265. Black leather strap (not original) with a gold-tone metal buckle. It works, but requires servicing. Case shows slight signs of wear. Total gross weight of the watch: 43 g. Measurements: 35 mm (case diameter, excluding crown) Provenance: Family bequest of Ramon Martí Alsina and Ricard Martí Aguiló. An art and heritage collection originating from the legacy of the Catalan painters Ramon Martí Alsina (1826–1894), a key figure in 19th-century Catalan realism, and his son Ricard Martí Aguiló (1857–1935). Passed down and enriched over successive generations, the collection brings together works from the original estates of both artists, along with new acquisitions made by their descendants. They remained particularly dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the family legacy, acquiring works by the painters themselves as they came onto the market and gradually expanding the collection with paintings, sculptures, archaeological artifacts, and other objects of artistic and historical interest. This mid-20th-century Omega combines two of the most prized attributes of the Swiss manufacturer’s classic watchmaking: a yellow gold case and the Caliber 265 hand-wound mechanical movement, part of the renowned family of 30-mm Omega calibers, developed beginning in the late 1930s and valued for its robust construction and its significance in the brand’s technical history. In the watch descriptions, when it states “it works,” it means the watch is functioning. Since collector’s watches typically have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general servicing, inspection, battery replacement, adjustment, or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. All photographs of our watches are original and were taken by our photographers; in other words, we do not use stock photography, which is why the photographs are considered part of the catalog listing.
