TITUS Genève. 18k gold chronograph wristwatch. Switzerland, circa 1940–1950. Circular 18k yellow gold case, hallmarked, with stylized lugs. Ivory-colored dial with applied gold-tone Arabic numerals, baton-style hour markers, and sword-style hands. Fluted crown at the 3 o’clock position, flanked by two rectangular pushers for operating the chronograph. Hand-wound mechanical movement. Brown leather strap with a buckle clasp. It works. Shows signs of use and patina consistent with its age, with some imperfections on the dial. The Plexiglas crystal has a crack. Weight: 43 g (total weight). Measurements: 40 x 45 mm. Provenance: Estate of Ramon Martí Alsina and Ricard Martí Aguiló. Artistic and heritage collection originating in the legacy of Catalan painters Ramon Martí Alsina (1826–1894), a seminal figure of 19th-century Catalan Realism, and his son Ricard Martí Aguiló (1857–1935). Passed down and enriched across successive generations, the collection brings together works from the original holdings of both artists alongside acquisitions made by their descendants. Dedicated to preserving and recovering the family legacy, the descendants actively reacquired works by the painters as they entered the market, progressively expanding the collection to encompass paintings, sculptures, archaeological artifacts, and other items of artistic and historical significance. In the description of watches, when it states “it works,” it means that the watch is functioning. Since collector’s watches typically have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general servicing, inspection, battery replacement, adjustment, or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. All photographs of our watches are original and have been taken by our photographers; in other words, we do not use stock photography, which is why the photographs are considered part of the listing.
