Artistic and heritage collection originating in the legacy of Catalan painters Ramon Martí Alsina (1826–1894), a seminal figure of 19th-century Catalan Realism, and his son Ricard Martí Aguiló (1857–1935). Passed down and enriched across successive generations, the collection brings together works from the original holdings of both artists alongside acquisitions made by their descendants. Dedicated to preserving and recovering the family legacy, the descendants actively reacquired works by the painters as they entered the market, progressively expanding the collection to encompass paintings, sculptures, archaeological artifacts, and other items of artistic and historical significance. Ornamental column from the early 20th century, crafted entirely from marble in a delicate ivory hue, with subtle natural veining in shades of ochre and pink that enhance the beauty of the material. Classically inspired, it features a solid, stepped circular base from which rises a slender cylindrical shaft, decorated with ring-shaped moldings and geometric expansions that lend rhythm and dynamism to the whole. It culminates in a broad circular capital, designed to support sculptures, vases, or other decorative objects. Its harmonious proportions, the natural richness of the alabaster, and the simplicity of its design make this piece a refined example of early 20th-century decorative arts, possessing great ornamental appeal.
