AUTOL OIL - c.1920-30 Rare original lithographed promotional automotive oil can. Capacity: 2 liters. 19.7 x 10 x 12.7 cm. Good condition - Vivid colors and beautiful original luster. A few light and discreet scattered scratches that do not affect the legibility of the illustration. Complete with its original handle and cap. Founded in 1855 by master watchmaker Hermann Moebius and established in Basel, Switzerland, in 1892, H. Moebius & Sohn is the world’s historic expert in high-precision lubricants. In the early 20th century, the company applied its watchmaking expertise to the nascent automotive industry and launched the AUTOL brand, a recognized benchmark from the 1910s to the 1930s. After the war, the company left the automotive sector to focus exclusively on high-end luxury watchmaking. As the undisputed Swiss leader, Moebius became part of the Swatch Group in 2008.
