A fine specimen— Founded in Switzerland in 1869 by Julius Maggi (1846–1912), the company revolutionized everyday dining in Kemptthal with its dehydrated soups (1885) and liquid seasoning (1886). Protected from counterfeiting by the “cross-star” emblem, the company became a multinational in December 1886 by establishing a presence in Singen (Germany), then in France with the launch of the legendary “Bouillon KUB ” (1908) and the Maggi Dairy Company (1902). The brand merged with Nestlé in 1947.
