MICHELIN - c.1920-30 - Bicycle tires - Large, original, double-sided, embossed, lithographed advertising sheet metal. Approximately 75 x 75 cm. “Louis Cannard. Billancourt (Seine)” In excellent condition. - This double-sided piece features beautifully vibrant colors and retains its original luster. There are slight, discreet signs of wear and scattered oxidation, which in no way detract from the item’s visual quality. This spectacular double-sided sheet metal piece depicts the Bibendum character riding a bicycle, with the inscription “MICHELIN.” A prime piece for automobilia collectors. In 1886, André Michelin and his brother Édouard Michelin took over the family business, Barbier-Daubrée. On May 28, 1889, in Clermont-Ferrand, the company’s name was changed to “Michelin et Cie.” Puy-de-Dôme/Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
