This company was a specialized player in the powerful Alsatian cotton industry of the early 20th century. Its business centered on twisting, an essential technical process that combines several textile threads by twisting them together to optimize their strength and consistency. The illustration on a white background depicts two little girls winding a ball of yarn. The contrast in their outfits—one in a blue dress, the other in a red dress—creates a blue-white-red ensemble with patriotic tones, as intended by Hella ARNO. HELLA ARNO (1904–2000): Born Hélène SPITZER (later Hélène ARNOLD), this renowned Strasbourg poster artist established herself as early as the 1920s as a pioneer of advertising art.
