- BERGER ANISADE Pin-UP - c. 1960 “La Majorette” Signed “Ducatez” (Raymond) Original offset-printed advertising sheet metal cut into the shape of a pin-up. 48.5 cm high. “Bindschedler” - In excellent overall condition - The original colors are superb and have retained all their vintage brilliance and vibrancy. There are minute, superficial traces of the original protective paper, visible only under raking light and in no way affecting the perfect legibility of the image. Two very subtle creases are present near the head and ankles, almost invisible to the naked eye. Berger, a brand originating from the distillery founded in 1830 in Couvet (Switzerland) by Charles-Frédéric Berger, flourished in the 19th century with its renowned and award-winning absinthe. In 1878, his sons established themselves in Marseille, where the company experienced significant growth, registering the trademark in 1892 and expanding internationally. After absinthe was banned (in 1915 in France), the brand shifted its focus to anise-flavored aperitifs in the 1920s, giving rise to the famous “Berger.” Now owned by the MBWS Group (Marie-Brizard & Wine Spirits) in Bordeaux.
