SUCHARD CHOCOLATE - c. 1900 Set of twelve original lithographed advertising menus. 18.4 x 12.4 cm each. In excellent condition - The paper is flawless, and the original colors are perfect and vibrant. Only one copy shows very subtle, minor marks that do not affect its appearance. A complete, superb, and beautifully preserved advertising set. The set consists of three thematic series of four menus, each featuring a blank space for listing the dishes: “Childhood” Series (4 menus): Childlike scenes depicting young children sharing bowls and boxes of chocolate. “Swiss Landscapes” Series (4 menus): Bucolic and alpine compositions depicting villages, mountains, and cows in meadows. “Gourmet Still Lifes” Series (4 menus): Depictions of food and gourmet dishes (fruit, fish, duck, lobster). Founded in Serrières in 1826 by Philippe Suchard, the Suchard company established itself as a global pioneer in the chocolate industry. Having become a major multinational under the leadership of Carl Russ-Suchard, the company revolutionized the market by creating iconic brands such as Milka milk chocolate (1901), Sugus caramels, and the famous Rocher Suchard (1948). After its merger with Tobler in 1970 (Interfood), production permanently left its historic site in Neuchâtel in 1990 following a series of corporate takeovers. (Canton of Neuchâtel)/Switzerland.
