AVION SAFETY OIL - c.1930 Original promotional automotive oil can made of lithographed sheet metal, 2-liter capacity, double-sided. 20.5 x 16.5 x 6.5 cm. “S.I.A.M Bordeaux” Complete with its original cap. The main side features a lithograph with well-preserved colors. The reverse side shows signs of sun exposure from use, which has notably dulled the vibrancy of the red pigments. There are scattered, subtle signs of oxidation on all four sides, slight warping of the sheet metal, and a few superficial scratches. “Distributed by SELECTION 30, Place de Jaude, Clermont-Ferrand”—a short-lived brand distributed exclusively on a regional basis by a merchant from the famous Clermont-Ferrand marketplace.
