Lavagne (unattributed) Rare original double-sided enamel advertising sign with a right-angled back panel, embossed lettering, and illustration. 54 x 50 cm. “Émail.Ed.Jean” In excellent overall condition— A superb drugstore sign featuring exceptional metal thickness and a thick enamel coating. The colors are fantastic and rich, with optimal mirror-like gloss on both sides. Along the outer edge, there are subtle traces of oxidation and minor chips. Two slight chips in the enamel within the design are worth noting, though they do not detract from the superb overall aesthetic of this very well-preserved piece. The main side features a stylized navy blue fly viewed from the front, captivating the eye with its large, wide-open eyes. On the other side: “Colors; Insecticides; Household Goods” Fly-Tox is a chemical insecticide created in the United States in 1922 and officially registered in France on October 12, 1934.
