- VEDETTE by CAPPIELLO - c. 1951–56 Illustrated “After Cappiello” Original double-sided enamel advertising plaque with a square back. 51 x 49.2 cm. “Emaillerie Alsacienne Strasbourg.” Produced in a run of 800 copies (reference from the book “Les plaques émaillées de l’émaillerie Alsacienne de A à Z” by Pierre Meyer) - Very good overall condition - The colors on both sides are perfectly preserved, with intense reds and optimal luster across all enameled surfaces. There are simply a few minor imperfections at the corner (where it is attached) and slight original firing flaws along the edges, which in no way detract from the quality or integrity of the central design. An industry leader in the 1960s, the brand joined the German Diehl Group in 1974 before ceasing its historic production in Alsace at the end of the 20th century. Bas-Rhin/Grand Est.
