Rolf Hans, "Design for a Parrot" abstract composition of colour fields in brown and two shades of yellow, lacquer paint on a geometrically cut-to-size plywood panel with coloured edges, signed, dated and titled “RHans 1970 ‘Design for a Parrot’", in good condition, dimensions approx. 50 x 60 cm. Artist information: German painter, draughtsman, object artist, photographer and musician (1938 Frankfurt am Main - 1996 Basel); around 1956, apprenticeship as a bank clerk; from around 1958, self-taught turn to painting; 1961-63: pupil of the ‘Quadriga’ artist Heinz Kreutz; 1963: moved to Basel and, alongside his artistic activities, earned a living as an IT communications specialist; member of the Society for New Art; undertook study trips to Ibiza, Spain, Italy, Norway, Poland and Andalusia; from 1967, annual stays in the Centovalli in Ticino; source: Kunsthandel Draheim catalogue ‘Rolf Hans 1938-1996 Schauspiel im Stillen’ from 2007.
