Artist information: Presumably an Austrian painter; on several occasions, auction houses have equated him with the Salzburg local historian and local politician Leopold Ziller (1903-2003), although this identification can neither be proven nor disproven; his works frequently appear on the art market and mostly depict coastal scenes with boats and architecture bathed in sunlight (his depictions primarily feature Venice and, occasionally, Istanbul).
